A two Day boating safety course will be presented by the Port St Lucie Power Squadron on Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30. This class will teach novice and experienced boaters about essential techniques for Safe Boating. Some of the topics that will be discussed are boat types, propulsion systems, navigating on the water, safety requirements and equipment, aids for navigation, proper use of a Marine Radio and what to do in emergencies. The course meets State Standards and qualifies successful students for insurance discounts with some insurance companies. The two day class that will meet from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday. The cost of the course is $30 for each Individual which includes text and materials; or $45 for two family members sharing one textbook. Scholarship for young Boaters (under 18) are available if they successfully complete the course.
